Losers

Her stiletto heels clicked on the pavement as she walked.  Only nineteen, but soon her whole life would change.  She had no idea it was going to happen, but then nobody that it had happened to had known.  It had come as a nasty shock; for her it would be the same.

She reached Merrion Avenue, all was quiet.

“Drat!” she mumbled as she laddered her tights.  As she bent over to see what damage had been done a hand came across her mouth.  She tried to scream, but felt something in her back make her freeze and the scream choked in her throat.

Slowly the hand moved from her mouth.  “Scream and regret it darling!” a voice said.  She felt his ugly hand moving over her, caressing her…

…It was over as fast as it had begun.  As she turned her bruised head she saw her attacker retreating.  She began to pick herself up off the pavement.  Her pride had vanished; she felt dirty and abused.

She began to stagger down the road, blinded by tears and anger; but she wouldn’t report it.
